This piece was commissioned as a wall sculpture in the M Club Cafe at the newly remodeled Marriot Hotel in Downtown Long Beach, California. The piece was inspired by the fluid motion of the ocean’s waves and tides as well as the patterns and layers of its bubbles and froth. The composition is made up of small clay-foam bowls varying in size (no larger than 7” or smaller than 2”) whose cavities are filled with poured resin in blue and green marine hues accented with liquid gold and metallic dust.
