This piece is composed of 4 long sheets of seared, coffee-soaked parchment paper (burned with a soldering iron), and then painted in parts with gold leaf. Each panel of parchment is separated by 1/3” thick sheets of acrylic. This piece was inspired by the repeating pattern of precipitation, growth, drought, and fire in California.
